Am I required to participate in mediation for my divorce case?

The Courts in Colorado require all parties to participate in mediation for pre-decree cases including pre-decree divorce cases. However, in some special circumstances either party may ask the court to waive the mediation requirement. For instance, if one party is refusing to cooperate to schedule mediation or if one party is refusing to pay for mediation session and because of that mediation has been cancelled. In that event, the court has the authority to deny or grant the request to waive mediation requirement.
